The house is a converted wine storeroom or
“Cantina” and is on the ground floor of a much larger old stone
building. The entrance is directly from the small village square
into the lobby with the bathroom to the right. Through another
door takes us to the single big living room that has a kitchen
tucked around to the right and the sitting room and bedroom area
running the left hand length of the room. There is a wood
burning stove for winter heating. The ceiling is high and
beautifully shaped into the curves of the traditional style of
the building. This is a very private tranquil place.
The modest size of the house is complimented by
the rear garden and stables approached by a path alongside the
house. Here there is a small patio and then on the second floor
of the stables there is a summertime garden sitting room
complete with table and chairs, cupboards and refrigerator.
Through wide apertures in the walls the views down the valley
are wonderful. This is a perfect spot to read a book - or even
to write one! |
